Author's instructions for posters

An academic poster is a formal presentation of results of an investigation or a project. A Poster allows to publish an on corse investigation or give the main final results (if concluded), combining text and images, suggesting a fast and efficient recognition of the work that is being done or was concluded.

The main criteria for a poster are:

-Legitimacy - the legitimacy is a measure of easy reading in the sense that between each part (chapters, see 6) and concision of paragraphs (synthesis capacity)

-Presentation - adequate choice of fonts (see 4), including the collars and patterns used in the graphics, layouts and figures;

-Organisation - the spacial organisation is fundamental for the global comprehension of what is being presented.

    Online Posters

    It's advised that the posters are A1.

    Each poster should be composed by exclusively 1 PDF A1 page

    In person Posters

    We recomend the presentation of the posters in digital support using only PPTx.

    All posters presented during the congress will be included in the minutes, in the posters' gallery reserved for them.

  • Mandatory content and recommendations

    The posters must have the following information in the id zone:

    XII Portuguese Congress of Sociology - FEUC - 4 to 6 of April, 2023

    Project/study designation

    Name(s)/Academic titles of authors

    Institutions to which they belong to

    Email

    In the content zone we advise you the following by the order indicated:

    • Goals
    • Methods
    • Results
    • Conclusions
    • Bibliographic references (when applied)
    • final indication of financial sources (when applied)
  • Display and presentation

    Online posters

    1. Posters with online presentation must be submitted in PDF format (on the platform) by April 4, 2023.
    2. You can submit a video of up to 5 minutes for the presentation
    3. You will have the possibility to present your poster, you have 5 minutos to present, or just leave it online, if you choose to present your Poster you will have to inform the organization.

    In person Posters

    1. Posters with in person presentation must be prepared in PPT, for presentation in the room

Instructions for Oral Communications

  • Online Orał Communications
    1. For Oral Communications with online presentation, you will have 12 minutes for presentation, followed by 3 minutes for discussion.
    2. Files must be submitted in PDF format by April 4, 2023.
    3. Authors must identify on the submission platform who will present.
    4. Note: Each author can present up to 3 works (including posters and communications).
    5. It is important that you are online 30 minutes before the start of the session where you will present.

    Submission of the presentation file is mandatory for communications that will be presented online and is only valid for them.

  • In Person Oral Communications
    1. Oral Communications have an average presentation time of 12 minutes.
    2. Oral communications with face-to-face presentation must be prepared in PPT, for presentation in the room
    3. There is no limit to the number of slides. Authors are urged to take presentation time into account in order to avoid scheduling delays.

    It is necessary to take with you, on the day of the congress, the presentation file.
